Opportunity for masseurs to be part of the Olympic and Paralympic Games!
THE ORGANISERS of the Olympic and Paralympics games are looking for experienced sports masseurs and osteopaths to provide their healing touch to sports greats and celebrities from the media.
Beauty Training Harrow has been asked by experts at Wellbeing & Treatment to spread the word and attract more skilled people to work for two weeks between July and September.
Massage expert Lucy Swain says: “The Olympics and Paralympics is called the Greatest Show on Earth and it will visit London once in our lifetime.
“The window of opportunity for volunteers closed months ago, but those with Osteopathic and Sports Massage skills, there is another chance to be part of it!”
Beauty Training Harrow understands that up to 25,000 of the world’s media will visit The Games during July and September to cover this truly global event and will make the Olympic village their temporary home. Hence the need for massages!
In prior Games a massage service has been provided to media stars, journalists, sports presenters and former track and field greats, and it has been a great success.
LOCOG – the Olympic games organising body – has asked whether Osteopathic and Sports Massage students would be prepared to volunteer up to two weeks of their time during The Games and provide massage services to the weary media stars – and we would not want to disappoint them!
Swain adds: “This is a great opportunity to raise your profession’s profile with the world’s media and cement the growing connection with injury rehabilitation and sporting excellence.”
This Olympic feat is not-for-profit, meaning any profits will be donated to charities. But in return for your valuable time and hard work, Lucy assures me you will be well fed during The Games!
So if you want to be part of the Olympic spirit, please register your interest with Wellbeing & Treatment by emailing: Lucy.Swain@wellbeingandtreatment.co.uk, or get in contact with Lucy on their Facebook page.
